The Charlottesville Surgical Center is staffed with devoted compassionate professionals whose goals are to strive for surgical excellence in a caring environment. Our board certified physicians in combination with our highly experienced RN’s and LPN’s create a dynamic surgical team.

Mark H. Dean - Medical Director Local physician, Mark H. Dean, D.O., has just opened this facility to benefit the community.  Dr. Dean was awarded a license for an outpatient surgical hospital because of unfulfilled surgical needs in the area. Dr. Dean is board certified in Neuromusculoskeletal medicine and his private practice, located in the Peter Jefferson Medical Park, is dedicated to interventional pain management and osteopathic spine rehabilitation.  Dr. Dean caters to the patient that suffers from chronic neck and back pain and is successful in the elimination of pain after all other avenues of relief have been exhausted.  Since opening, Dr. Dean has had the ability to expand his interventional pain procedures to include spinal manipulation under anesthesia (MUA).   MUA allows the surgeon to manipulate the patients’ spine while under anesthesia to restore movement in previously restricted joints.  MUA procedures are valuable for those patients with chronic neck, back and joint pain.  Dr. Dean has successfully performed several cases since opening and his patients have had very positive results. Dr. Dean looks forward to servicing area surgeons and patients.

Gregg Korbon - Vice Medical Director Gregg Korbon, M.D. is an anesthesiologist with extensive experience in both academic and private practice. Dr. Korbon comes to the Charlottesville Surgical Center from Martha Jefferson Hospital where he served as Chief of Anesthesiology. Prior to his time at Martha Jefferson, Dr. Korbon taught at the University of Virginia Medical Center and Duke University Medical Center where he authored several books and many scientific articles. Dr Korbon is board certified in Anesthesiology and has extensive experience in Pain Management.
